Approval to operate means that SJVC has been found in compliance with the standards set forth in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 (California Education Code, Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8) and Title 5, Division 7.5 – Private Postsecondary Education of the California Code of Regulations.

San Joaquin Valley College is offering a new scholarship for select campuses and programs that rewards hard work and academic success. New students in eligible programs and start dates earn a scholarship when they graduate to help pay down student loans — $2,500 for a Certificate and $5,000 for an AS Degree!
Eligibility
- Available only to new, first-time enrollments
- Applicants enrolling with a contractually reduced tuition charge are not eligible
- Eligible campuses, programs and credentials:
Application Deadline
- Completed application must be received prior to the enrollment deadline for the applicant's chosen start date
- The Winter 2017 Student Success Scholarship program is only available for the January 30, March 6, and April 10 start dates
Scholarship Award Terms
- The Student Success Scholarship award is $2,500 for Certificate program graduates and $5,000 for AS Degree program graduates
- The Student Success Scholarship is applied to the sutdent's account only upon graduation from the program

Student Success Scholarship awards are applied to the student account in the following order of priority:
- Paying down SJVC instituational loans
- Paying down Federal student loans
- Paying down any private educational loans
- Cash award to student / graduate
- Students who withdraw or are terminated prior to graduation are not eligible to recieve any portion of the Student Success Scholarship
